Tomorrow, April 15, 2014, the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP) will be discussing their proposed Southern Owens Valley Solar Ranch (SOVSR) at the Inyo County Board of Supervisors meeting. The meeting takes place at 10:00 a.m. at the Board chambers in Independence.

SOVSR would be a 1200 acre development in the Owens Valley just east of Manzanar National Historic Site and 14,480′ Mount Williamson.

We believe it is important to provide a constant reminder to the Board of Supervisors and LADWP that industrial-scale solar development is inappropriate for Inyo County – especially the proposed site of SOVSR in the Owens Valley.

Please consider coming to the meeting with very short comments—under one minute in length.  Our voices and our persistence are important and shall continue to be important.

Did LADWP discuss their solar project as a done-deal? i.e. just giving the `locals’ the opportunity to vent…??? What was the outcome, if any, of the meet on the 15th?
